Trying (Grape) Wine [Alcoholic Beverage] (for me, the non-drinker)

Trying grape wine or Wine and see what it taste like. I did try some non-alcoholic version of it but I forgotten how it taste so whatever. I did mention I sip wine before but during those time I was not paying attention so whatever as well. Wine is probably the only one I did more research on of the alcoholic beverage because I was looking for what to give as present for a family member who work in this industry but enough of that.

I will stated what I personally taste what these alcoholic beverage taste like and not from anyone else. These try/taste is for myself and not anyone. My body, my taste preference.

Here some layman information about (grape) Wine:
  • Truthfully all (grape) wine are blended; however they are not officially consider blended if  they are from a single variety of grape with a vintage labeled.
  • Non-Vintage wine are always blended
  • There are "Named" blend that the wine world will recognized just by the name alone (Vintage or Non-Vintage).
  • Non-Vintage wine are either inexpensive wine or a "Named" blend wine.
  • Blend wine are either "a single variety of grape from different vintage year" and/or "different variety of grape with one variety of grape as the majority".

Afterthought (After Tasting #1-16) [02/04/17]: The first question I ask myself/yourself are "Is is bitter (grape wine)?" The answer to that question after trying some are both "yes" and "no", let me explain. First off after trying other alcoholic beverage before this type of alcoholic beverage test, I realize that I have  moderate to high bitter tolerance. With that be stated, when I first try (grape) wine it taste bitter. It only after trying a few more time (taste test x-amount) that I become immune to it and the bitter taste disappear and some other flavor appear. It depend on your bitterness tolerance and how long it will take from x-amount of sample before you will become immune to the bitterness. Once gone, it will mostly be gone from the flavor. Unlike all my other previous alcoholic beverages taste tests (on other blog post) which are have an ingredient that make it bitter. OK enough of that; I neither dislike it or like it, but I can tolerate it (grape wine). Unlike sake (Japanese Rice Wine) which I can clearly stated I don't enjoy it, this (grape wine) I can tolerate it. If I have to say I have a preference of what grape wine I would prefer, that would be that they would have a moderate strength in term flavor factor and/or have fruity like flavor. The one that have this (one of my preference of choices) on my taste test are: #1, #3, #4, #8, #10, #11, #12, and #14. Grape wine to me at less taste either funky or like grape flavored medicine.

What will happen if you played a PC Game on a PC that only meet the minimum requirement and not the recommend one?

These are all my personal experiences example and they from my past and I only have two example because it only happen twice for me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game: Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force
OS: Windows 98

Resulting Problem: Long Loading Time
My Comment: The game itself run smoothly but when it time to load to the next section or map that require loading screen. It took from 15 minute to more then an Hours to load, depend. Years later when I play this again on a newer OS, it only took less then a minute to load.

---------------------------------------

Game: Tom Clancy's Endwar
OS: Windows XP

Resulting Problem: Lag (on single-player)
My Comment: It lag plain and simple. This force me buy and install a graphic card on to the computer. After the new graphic card is up and running, the game run smoothly.

Talk about "MythBusters: The Search" the TV Series "Episode 3"

Just like last time I would not give detail spoiler of the episode, I would just talk about it.

With 8 remaining contestants, they also did two myth on this episode. Following the same pattern as last time; the 1st myth they did it in teams while the 2nd myth they were judge as individual.

The person that got voted out/kick out/judge out this time with reason stated: "Lack of Communication and Time Management". Well, Mythbusters are always on time crunch when building stuff for any myth. Now there are 7 remaining contestant on the Show.

With that taking care of now I talk about the 2 myth they did this time. First myth I got no complain with the way they did it and the result. The second myth on the other hand I have lot of  "word" (meaning: complain) to say which I actuality need to stated the myth they did (spoiler). The title of the myth is call "Shooting Blind" with myth which ask "can a hero able to shoot the bad guy in blind like situation every time with only sound as the aid?"

My question are:
  • Is the hero trying to kill or disable the bad guy?
  • If the hero trying to disable the bad guy, why shoot in the dark in the first place? that still going kill him if you don't know where you aiming at.
  • If the hero is trying to kill the bad guy, why wouldn't the bad guy be arm?
  • So it assume that the hero is shooting a bad guy in the dark that is unarm but dangerous enough to shoot and kill. Is that the set up?
  • Wouldn't both side be blind in the dark and can't see? While the is hero is armed, the bad guy is assumed unarm (given how they show the animated) and is trying to get away. Unless you have night version or blind training, the bad guy is unlikely to run away quickly without hitting stuff or crashing into thing.
  • Isn't this myth just another version of these combination myth from the past: "Can a person shoot around a corner accurately using a variety of methods?", "Can a cowboy shoot a gun out of a person's hand without injuring him?", and "Is it possible for a hitman to fire a bullet through a wall and hit a moving target on the other side?"
  • And it assuming the hero is an experience gun user, My question overall is "why did they uses the contestants to test this myth when some of them clearly is their first time even holding a gun?
I would feel better with the result with either A.) they uses an experience or expert gun user as a control or B.) Our contestants have more time training shooting and handling a gun. The fact that some of the contestants never hold a gun before is no difference from "shooting blind" while "shooting blind".

Talk about "MythBusters: The Search" the TV Series "Episode 2"

Just like last time I would not give detail spoiler of the episode, I would just talk about it.

With 9 remaining contestants, they also did two myth on this episode. Following the same pattern as last time; the 1st myth they did it in teams while the 2nd myth they were judge as individual. Overall I got no complain on the result of the myths but I do have a question on the 2nd myth on why they (TV host) pull 2 of the contestants out of the experiment. They (both the TV host and the people that got pull out) never explain it before or after the experiment for that myth. Were they so unskilled for the experiment or were they so skilled for the experiment that they were pull out or were they the pull out for other reason? We will never know until they tell us.

The person that got voted out/kick out/judge out this time with reason stated: "Lack of Communication". I as the TV watcher kind of agree but it was not really shown on this episode but it were shown on the last episode when doing the 1st myth on episode 1. Now there are 8 remaining contestant on the Show.

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy - Key Mission List & Mission List [Events Coordinates - Walkthrough] (in progress)

I try to find a guide for the missions but there no English guide or any Walkthrough beside the trophy one. So I'm going to list all the "key mission list" and "mission list" coordinates for triggering an events (mostly fighting or talking) for that mission as I play again. The full map is also on the "trophy" link so look at it. I on the other hand will just point out place on the map. Make sure you follow or listen to instructions from the person who give you your mission before going to these coordinates.

There are two kind of mission lists; "Key Mission List" which you can think of as main story and "Mission List" which you can think of as side story. The "Mission List" you can do it at any time and are sometime connected to a "Key Mission List". There are also "Mission List" that you must do in order to unlock a "Key Mission List".

(Just rewording and restating the above trophy link information)
The game is break down to the following information which will affect the availability of  "Mission List", Level CAP, and certain map (depend) as you progress in the game.
  • First Semester: (Main Story; Level Cap: 15)
  • Second Semester: (Main Story; Level Cap: 40 until you defeat the secret boss, which then lifts the cap all the way to level 99, all "Mission List" except Wanted Variants missions from 1st Semester will be gone when you start 2nd semester)
  • Post Game (After Story, Main Story Game Done)
(**I can only think that the number of stars under level for that mission is the level of difficulty, the more star mean the more difficult it is for that mission; Star go from 1 thru 10**)

This may or may not be fully updated as I play or play something else while doing this guide.

"MythBusters: The Search" TV Series started "Episode 1" Today On Science Channel [01/08/17]

The New TV Series "MythBusters: The Search" just started today (Sunday - 01/08/17) on the Science Channel with episode 1, with a new episode starting next week on Saturday (01/14/17) along with a rerun episode of episode 1.

This TV Series is trying to find the next hosts for the next gen. of MythBusters, so course they introduce the next possible hosts with 10 different people where half of them has a degree in science in something while the other half are experiences builder in their field related to science.

They only did 2 myth on this episode and by the end of the episode, one of the "possible hosts" was voted out by the judge behind this new TV Series (to find a new host) because it is a contest. Now there 9 left.

I don't want to spoil who got voted out/kick out/judge out for people who hasn't watch the episode yet but I can tell why that person was chosen.

In My own word and how I see it and interpret it from what the TV stated (There Niche Was Too Small); That the person that was voted out was because they could not adapt well or quickly enough outside their field of expertise. That why they stated what they stated on the TV series.

    -------------------------------------
Now about the two myth they did on this episode with none spoiler like statement from me. The 1st myth they did as a team while the second myth they did it as individual. While I don't question the result of both myth because I believe they (The TV people, not the contestant) chosen these to test the contestant of their overall abilities for the show. I do however question the methodology in which they did the second myth. My main point; too many "human factor" in the data collocation.

Reincarnation In The Same World, The Different Type: Explanation (mostly on Asian [JP, CH, KR] Light/Web Novel plot story)

I being recently seen lot of reincarnation type of light/web novel (hasn't read them yet) but not all reincarnation the same. In this blog, I'm only going to explain the reincarnation in the same world and not to another world. What they (the main character) end up as after they are reincarnated all depend on the story (look at the other blog list for the possible outcome).

The Reincarnation in the Same World can be break down into two things:
    • An opening "Plot" for the story (most common)
      • If it an opening plot for the story, this usually happen within the first few chapters. The reincarnated either reincarnated into the past or the future.
    • An ability or skill of a user
      • Someone in the story has the ability or skill to reincarnated and it usually the main character or someone near the main character. This ability or skill is important enough to be mentioned, stated, or used in the story to be notices as important part of the story. The reincarnated usually reincarnated into the past but there are few (story out there) that go for the future.

    Purpose (option for the reincarnated)
    • Pasts
      • Change the present (past) for the future (former present) -[just doing anything count as changing the future already]
    • Future
      • Live a new life
      • Bring back past knowledge and skill if the future lost it somehow

Transported to Another World, The Different Type: Explanation (mostly on Asian [JP, CH, KR] Light/Web Novel plot story)

I being seeing recently a lot of new web novel with plot line that has "Transported to Another World" type of theme. It not that I hate these type, it all depend on the story itself. With all these "Transported to Another World", why not explain the different kind and how some ideas are similar in all these stories. These other worlds may have RPG game like stuff or not, all depend. Whether Summoned or Reincarnated, the person or people always or most of the time uses the knowledge of Earth (science logic and reasoning) to their advantage in the other world for whatever reason (such as feed themselves, to live, to fight, etc...) If the summoned or reincarnated was not given a purposed or task, they (the summoned/reincarnated) will do their own thing and start creating their own purpose and goal (desire) in this new world while starting a new life.

    Summoned

    • The Main Protagonist and/or Groups near the Main Protagonist get teleported from where they at (Earth) to the summoned places (the other world). The Person or People who get summon has no say in this.
    • Common Characteristic of the other World
      • Most Common: A Fantasy Medieval Europe-like world with Sword and Magic plus all the Fantasy Non-Human Races (Often called: Demi-Human while other are call Beastman) and monster you can think of in those Fantasy RPG Game.
    • Common Characteristic of the Summoned Person or People in these Stories:
      • Retain all original appearance (from Earth) and and their (summoned person or people) personal (full/all) memory and (earth) skill sets when arrive to the other world.
      • If summon by someone or thing is known, then the summoned person or people are often given a purpose for there summoned. That purpose is usually solving a world crisis in that worlds and the summoned person or people are there to solve it while given the title and power of Hero/Heroine (depend on the gender) or something similar when arrive.
      • Most common age group of these summoned person or people are in their Teen's, while older age group are also available.
      • Most common gender that are summoned are male, while female are also are summoned (depend on the story)
    • Common Summoner:
      • Magic User (Example: Mage, Witch, Summoner, Sage, etc..)
      • Super Being (Example: God, Goddess, Devil, Spirit, Etc... or something along these line)
      • Unknown (The novel never stated it or its a mystery on how they got transported in another world). "Spirited Away" also fall under this category, that the only way to call it.

    Reincarnation

    • The Main Protagonist die on Earth somehow and get reincarnated in another world of some kind. In these stories, we as the reader and the main protagonist know they are dead or have die so it not a mystery on that part. This is the only common theme among the reincarnation type because after this, it up to the author to chose what the Main Protagonist to be. Another type that still count within reincarnation category is that the Main Protagonist reincarnated into someone (mostly and most of the time a game character of their) and they don't know why and how and it unknown whether they die or not on Earth but it often imply they didn't but they just happen to be here (in different world). "Transmigration" which is another genre that part of the reincarnation genre; usually I see this genre in Chinese novel more often. "Spirited Away" also fall under this category, where the main protagonist went to sleep like normal and then the next thing they end up as someone else or as baby in another world. [I'm not including reincarnation in the same world, that doesn't count as "transport to another world" part]
    • The Main Protagonist Rebirth in:
      • As a offspring (baby) [Within some family/household which our main protagonist is now part of] (common)
      • Awaken in a child body [Within some family/household which our main protagonist is now part of]
      • Awaken in a adult body [Within some family/household which our main protagonist is now part of] (uncommon & rare)
        • In these uncommon plot stories; it often where our main protagonist soul replace or suppress the original soul of that body while retaining that body memories and skills & the main protagonist's memories and skills.
      • A Video Game Character You used to played/or heard of from someone close to the Protagonist.
      • New Body or Original body (Ages And Appearances Varies) created by "Super Being" (God/Goddess) [No relation to people in the new world, yet]
    • Main Protagonist's memories (from their former lives)
      • Retain all/full memories of their former lives (common)
      • Retain partial of their memories of their former lives while only remembering the important part or information of that world (earth).
    • Here are some possible outcome of his/her reincarnation (depend on the story) on what the Main Protagonist end up as:
      • Same gender as his/her former Earth counter part
      • Opposite gender as his/her former Earth counter part
      • Original body and Appearance (age varies) or New Body (age varies)
      • Human
      • Demi-Human, Sub-Human, Beastman, etc... or something along these line (Example: Elves, Dwarf, Cat People, etc....)
      • Monsters (any creature that the other world deem as harmful to people with inborn x-amount mana in their body that can uses a certain degree of magic) (Example: Slime, Spider, Dragon, Goblin, etc...)
      • Object, Tool, and/or Vehicle (Non-Living Things but now with human mind thinks to the reincarnation) (Example: Sword, Truck, Vending Machines Etc...)
      • Video Game Character (can be anything)
    •   Common Characteristic of the other World
      • None but it usually common to have magic and sword in it.
      • They might end up in a fantasy world
      • They might end up in world similar or the exact world of a former game that the Main Protagonist used to play or currently playing before he/she die.

    Reincarnated And Summoned

    • There are stories that does not fit the above description of the two type as pure summoned or just reincarnation. Here are an examples that I believes that might fall under this section but I'm sure there more that I have not mention or remember:
      • The main protagonist is reincarnated but he/she is unsure why and how he/she got there (other world), while at the same time we (reader and main protagonist) cannot confirm whether they (main protagonist) are actuality dead or have dye on Earth; our main protagonist could have being summoned but that unknown also.
      • "Spirited Away" like situation: I already put this in both reincarnation and summon but let me explains what it mean. It simply mean what it mean, they were transported to another world (depend on the novel, reincarnated or summoned) by unknown mean and reason Or in another word "it just happen". There no summoner or super being involve, it just happen and you there. You doing something normal one day and next your in the middle of no where, something like that.

Reverse Summoning To Return Back To Earth/Other Worldlier Transported to Earth

    • Return To Earth: In this type of story, the novel start when the MC return somehow from the other world and back to earth after being on the other side doing whatever the other side summon them to do. Here are some common theme of such thing:
      • Possible chance MC retain all his ability when he or she return back to Earth
      • Possible chance the other worldlier follow MC
      • Possible chance Earth have and know about magic and can uses it but it a secret not known to the public
      • Possible chance Earth have and know about magic and can uses it, and it not a secret because somehow Earth made contact with other worldlier while MC was away.
    • Other Worldlier Transported to Earth: In this type of story unlike most transported to another world where it is always Earth people getting transported to them but in this type of plot it is them from the other world get transport to Earth.

    Gate/Door

    • It neither a summoning nor reincarnation but a gate or a door or a something similar to that affect (mostly) which allow the person to travel to another world (and back most of the time in most story). This will count as "summoning" in most novel. It will not count if they went to netherworld or celestial world because it still within the same world but different realm, but it will if it another world that similar in a sense like they on another planet.

A Video Game World where you can't Logout while playing

    • Unlike the rest on the above, this one is different. The main protagonist and any and all that are effect while playing the video game (usually Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online [VRMMO]) can't logout. Now they are stuck in the video game world which count as transport into another world because video game is a different world. This is different from transport to a game world which count as reincarnated (most of the time) while this they are stuck in the game world while playing and cannot logout.

Preparation Needed In Trying Hard Cider [Alcoholic Beverage] From Beginner for Beginner [Pt2]

    [I don't Promote Drinking and/or Drinking & Driving]
This (blog post) is for people who never have/try hard cider and/or alcoholic beverage before and for whatever reason want to try some. Because of their preference taste is unknown (to me) with whether they may or may not like hard cider after trying; I going with the routes with the less cost to their wallet for those who may turn out to NOT like beer. I believe there is a saying "Are you a beer person or Are you a wine person", that how my thought process came to this.

This is coming from a beginner for beginner; if you ask an expert they may tell you stuff that most likely not in layman term and/or too advances for beginner to understands most of it. Layman term for the masses.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Hard Cider Is An Alcoholic Beverage]

    • Alcohol can and will impair your physical and mental ability (Even if you have a sip. The degree of impairment depend from person to person as well as the ABV% and the amount consumed)
    • Alcohol can and will cause health problems (depend on the person personal health issue and past health issue)
    • You MUST be at the Legal AGE mark by your countries to purchase and allow to Legally consume it within that country's law.
    • Please obey the LAW and read & understand all warning label on all [Alcoholic Beverage].
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[There are no substitute for the essence of what hard cider flavor taste like]

Like the topic stated; I could not find nor know of any normal foods or beverages that will taste like what most hard cider taste like. I'm sure there are normal food or beverage out there that does taste like hard cider but nothing that most people can get their hand on. I can only assume the raw ingredient of hard cider, the cider (apple), will have the flavor however unless you know where to get that type of cider (apple). It unlikely you can taste test it, neither can I can confirm if this assumption of my is true so forget about it. The only thing I can say is brace on tight and try the real deal.

[Other Flavor You will Encounter In Hard Cider]

    • Sweet - It main ingredient are cider (apple) which is a fruit but it rare for traditional hard cider to be sweet like juice, it not the sweet one would normally think of sweet.
    • Bittersweet - Certain type of cider (apple) will have a natural bittersweet flavor in it which most traditional hard cider will have
    • Sour - You may or may not encounter this flavor
    • Bitter - You may sometime encounter bitterness which is different from bittersweet for this is not from the cider (apple) but of another ingredient they (producer) added.
    • Dry - This is an effect, not a flavor. When stated on the label or if you taste the effect, it simply mean that all flavor will be loss not long after consuming the beverage.
    • Semi-(something) - The middle ground of something, it will not give the full effect of flavor of whatever semi it is.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[The following information is probably only apply to people who are living or visiting the USA.]

    [Availability]

Now even if some magazine article stated that hard cider is starting to get popular in the US doesn't change the status quo of how available it is or the number of choices you can selected from on which hard cider to buy.

The availability and which hard cider (brands) are available to be purchase laid heavily on where they (the people) are currently at when purchasing it. (All these are based on my personal experiences and minor researches)
    • Not all store that sell alcoholic beverage have hard cider (There are exception to this)
      • This depend on your location where you are purchasing from
    • Store that do sell hard cider are limited to one or a few (national) brands (There are exception to this)
      • If you did your own research, you may find a store (hopefully) in your local area that sell other brand and/or you live or visiting a city where there are higher chance of such selection.
    •  Specialized Alcohol Store are always an exception to the above statement beside large cities.
      • Specialized Alcohol Store give you both the availability and the selection only limited by the size of the store.

    [Recommendation]

I don't usually recommend things like alcoholic to people because it bad for you but since I did stated that there no normal food or beverage as a substitute for what hard cider taste like then I will have to. This recommendation is for people who are limited in their selection by their location but I would also recommend those people with wider selection of hard cider at their location to take look. This recommendation is also for first timer hard cider taster/drinker and it based on the availability.

Angry Orchard: The #1 selling US hard cider brand; if a store sell hard cider you more then likely to find one version of "Angry Orchard" there.

Woodchuck: One of the top 10 selling US hard cider brand.

I chosen two top selling (national) US hard cider brand based on the fact that one is #1 selling US hard cider brand for several years and still is and the other is one of the top 10 selling US hard cider brand in the US for my recommendation. By having more sell, it mean it more available in most store that why I chosen these two brand. The other reason is that both have a selection of variety of hard cider within it own brand.

Now here come the choices on which to pick as your first US hard cider taste experience. Would you jump right in or do it gradually? If you going jump right in then "Angry Orchard" is the one to go but if you want do gradual step then "Woodchuck" is the way to go because when I try "Woodchuck" hard cider it always taste like there juice like flavor in it while experiencing some cider flavor as well. Now pick your pick of choices or do your own research and think about it on your own, whatever go is up to you in the end.

    [Cost]

This is assuming you pick one of the brand above in which case it be in a pack. It probably cost around $10.00 USD given the fact it's be sold in a 6-pack or more and I wouldn't know what they get. Like I stated; what available is what available.
