Trying Non-Alcoholic Beverage (for me, the non-drinker)

Like the topic stated, trying stuff that are label Non-Alcoholic Beverage that taste like the real thing as some would said by many expert on many online sources states. Like I stated in one of my post on this blog somewhere that I'm not drinker and the only experience I have with alcohol is sipping red wine (not drinking). So my comment on how I feel about these so call "Non-Alcoholic Beverage" will be up to me and my non-drinking comment.

BTW: Non-Alcoholic Beverage still contain Alcohol, depending on your country and how they wanted to be label. You need to be legally at the age where you can drink to buy it. Most non-alcoholic beverage I found (sold in the USA) are usually label as "less then 0.5% Alcohol by Volume" or something similar and are usually sold at the same area as the real alcohol stuff. However some are are label 0% alcohol but still call as Non-Alcoholic Beverage. I can only assume they uses similar and/or the same ingredient as their Alcoholic Beverage counter-part but create the 0% Alcohol in a different process then them.

The process is like this in my simplest understanding of it; I maybe wrong:
Less Then 0.5 % Alcohol by Volume: Create an alcoholic beverage then de-alcoholized it.
0% Alcohol: Uses the same and/or similar ingredient as their Alcoholic Beverage counter-part but does not uses any step that create the alcohol part.

[All taste (trying them out) comment will be in number (as in order) when I taste them]

Non-Alcoholic Beer:

[This only lists anything that is (officially) stated as non-alcoholic beer, whether by label and/or by any beer related sources]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
St. Pauli N.A.
Brauerei, Germany
Non-Alcoholic
Contains less than 0.5 % Alcohol by Volume
12 FL. Oz, Malt Beverage

Taste #1: All I can said is that it taste funny with an aftertaste of small bitterness to it. It not undrinkable (unbearable) but ..., anyway I was expecting it to smell but I don't smell anything but that probably just me. Do I enjoy it? and the answer is no but since this is the first taste/test so I can't say for sure later on, on other taste/test.

Re-Taste: Try this again on a different day on a semi-empty stomach; I know it not good for the body to drink on empty stomach. I still don't like it but as stated before is not undrinkable. I do wonder if that bitter (small) flavor come from the malt or some unlisted and/or unstated ingredient which they usually never put on label of these type of beverage.

Re-Note: After knowing what malt taste like, the best description for this is on this link on the aromas part.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
O'Doul's Premium
Premium & Extra Smooth
Non-Alcoholic Brew
Contains Less Than 0.5% Alcohol by Volume
12 FL. OZ.

Taste #3: First sip have the flavor similar to St. Pauli N.A. but weaker, way weaker in flavor factor as if it not there unless you look for it. I wonder if that flavor is what malt taste like? The rest of the flavor taste like water if you continue to drink a large portion of it. Smell similar to St. Pauli N.A. but taste underwhelming of everything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buckler
Non-Alcoholic Brew
Contains Than 0.5% Alcohol By Volume
Premium Quality; Imported From Holland
Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage
12 FL. OZ.; Brewed By Heineken

Taste #12: On the smell factor it has a very weak malt smell. On the taste factor it has a strong malt flavor with an hint (very small) of sweetness, no after taste.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clausthaler
Imported From Germany
Marke Clausthaler Premium; Non-Alcoholic
Malt Beverage Contains Less Than 0.5% ALC BY VOL
Acclaimed Worldwide Brewed & Bottled in Germany
12 FL. OZ. (355ml)

Taste #14: This has a strong malt smell when I open the bottle and smell it. When I drink it I get a full burning sensation in  my mouth with somewhat bitterness taste to it but no malt taste. However when I sip it I got a minor burning sensation in my mouth along with minor bitterness taste, as well as mild malt flavor.
  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beck's
Originated in Breman, Germany
Non-Alcoholic
Contains Less Than 0.5% ALC BY VOL
Malt Beverage
12 FL. OZ.

Taste #11: Now that I'm know what malt flavor taste like, let move on. On the smell factor it didn't have a very strong malt smell but it still there. On the taste factor it has a very strong malt flavor with a taste of a certain level of bitterness to it however it's has no after taste unlike St. Pauli N.A. I wouldn't recommend this to any beginner unless they know what malt taste like. This also have some bitterness to it, so not the best choices to non-drinker.

Kaliber
Imported (UK)
Non-Alcoholic Premium Brew
From the Brewers of Guinness
Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage
Contains Less Than 0.5% Alcohol By Volume
Serve Ice Cold; 11.2 Fluid Ounces

Taste #13: It's doesn't have much smell to it when I open the bottle, while on the other hand it also doesn't have much malt flavor either. The one thing it does have is the burning sensation in your mouth. If you got no clue what I'm talking about, go found some mouth-wash you understand. This the first one so far that actually give a burning sensation in your mouth. It not so bad if it didn't have that burning in your mouth part.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coors
Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage
Contains Less Than 0.5% ALC. BY VOL.
12 FL. OZ. (355ML.)

Taste #5: Now I believes I understand that flavor is Malt after drinking so many different sample that I been wondering about since the Taste #1 from St. Pauli N.A. Now back to this; this smell similar if not the same as O'Doul's Premium but only in smell. The taste factor is even less underwhelming than O'Doul's Premium, and yes this also taste like water.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Old Milwaukee N.A.
Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage
Contains Less Than 0.5% ALC. BY VOL.
Contents 12 Fluid Ounces (355mL.)

Taste #6: To think this is even less underwhelming in flavor factor than Coors, that wild. It's barely have any smell but I do wonder if it because it in CAN and not in a Bottle. It also taste like water with an underwhelming lack of any "malt" flavor. There is malt flavor like an eye drop amount that you can barely taste. The good thing about this is that anyone that want to try Non-Alcoholic Beverage and never drink before (like me) should start with this or Coors N.A. to get the feel for Malt and not get overwhelming by it. My unluckiness is that I started with something with full of Malt (check Taste #1).

This is an empty bottle
Karamalz Classic
Non-Alcoholic
Malt Beverage
11.2 fl. oz.
[Imported: Germany]

Taste #10: First off, I did not personally bought this so I only have the label information to work with but judging from the texts in the back it was probably bought from an Asian Supermarket. Just to be sure there no miss label I search around online to see if it has any alcohol percentage for this beverage which it doesn't, so it can be call [0% alcohol] or [alcohol free]. Now back to this and how it taste; it taste like a carbonated barley tea and yes I do know what barley tea taste like because I'm a casual tea drinker.

Paulaner Weizen-Radler
Non-Alcoholic
Malt beverage with natural flavors
Contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume
with lemon juice
11.2 fl. oz.
[Premium Import From Munich/Germany]

Taste #15: When you first open the bottle you get a strong sense of lemon smell. Then when I taste it, I would describe it as carbonated lemonade with minor malt flavor. On a side note; "Weizen Radler" translate (by google) as "wheat cyclists" in English.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
O'Doul's Amber
Rich & Flavorful
Non-Alcoholic Brew
Contains Less Than 0.5% Alcohol by Volume
12 FL. OZ.

Taste #16: This smell and taste the same as O'Doul's Premium with the minor differences in the tastes by the added minor bitterness to it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clausthaler Amber
Imported From Germany
Marke Clausthaler Unfiltered; Non-Alcoholic
Dry Hopped with Cascade Hops
Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage Contains Less Than 0.5% ALC BY VOL
Acclaimed Worldwide Brewed in Germany
12 FL. OZ. (355ml)

Taste #17: Not much smell to it when I open the bottle and smell it. When compare to the Clausthaler Premium, this has less burning sensation in my mouth as well as it has a strong presence of moderate bitterness to it but not at a level where it is truly bitter. The malt if it there is being overwhelm by the HOPS flavor (bitterness).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Erdinger Weissbrau
Non-Alcoholic
Contains Less Than 0.5% Alcohol By Volume
Malt Beverage
11.2 FL. OZ

Taste #18: This beverage doesn't have much smell to it, almost non malt smell. Also this beverage is a mix bag in term of taste and flavor; sometime I taste malt while other time I taste nothing, like water. The taste is not consistent.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bitburger Drive

Taste #19: I heard that HOP is bitter, than yes this beverage is mild bitter. Now what about the other ingredient listed on the label? Well you can sometime taste malt and sometime don't while overall the bitter (HOP) is around.

Kirin Free
Non-Alcohol Malt Beverage
ALC 0.00%
Alcohol Free. Original Yeast-Free Process
(11.2 FL. OZ. [330ML])

Taste #20: I could smell a strong malt flavor on this beverage however the overall taste of this beverage is best describe as water. It not like you can't taste any other flavor but I taste water the most in this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heineken 0.0 Beer
Alcohol Free
ALC 0.00%
(Imported)

Taste #21: It been a long time since I last try any alcohol free beverage so I may be off with my taste bud then again I never right in the first place. Malty smell with somewhat plain water taste with a minor dilute version of Hops. It not flavorless. [08/21/19]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Non-Alcoholic Wine:

[This lists may include beverage that is 100% (wine grape) juice (which can be presume it 0% ALC); it is here because it uses wine grape; officially those thing are call juice]   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fre

Fre
Chardonnay
Alcohol-Removed Wine
Contains Less Than 0.5% Alcohol By Volume; 25.4 FL (750mL)
A Grape Beverage With Other Natural Flavors
[24% Juice]

Taste #2: First sip it taste weird but as I continue to drink it; I would describe it as (weak) fruity yet not fruity with an aftertaste of that unknown flavor of the first sip. The smell of this beverage for me is like a mix of some unknown fruit and some liquid flavor medicine (in a good way, at least for me). Drink-ability for this beverage (for me) is OK.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fre
Moscato
Alcohol-Removed Wine
Contains Less Than 0.5% Alcohol By Volume; 25.4 FL (750mL)
A Grape Beverage With Other Natural Flavors

Taste #8: It taste less tangy but still fruity.

Premium Dealcoholized Wine
Contains Less Than One Half Of One Percent Alcohol By Volume
25.4 FL. OZ. (1PT. 9.4 FL. OZ.) 750mL

Taste #4: It taste like a very bad grape flavor medicine, that all I'm going to say.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INAH
Superior Grape Juice
2013 Shiraz
Alcohol 0%
Product of Western Cape South Africa
750 ML

Taste #9: It taste like a grape juice because it is, the only difference is that it has it own unique grape flavor. You may or may not like this version of grape juice, but personally I'm not bother by the flavor.
