Taking picture of the Moon (Lunar) - Test #2

This is my 2nd test of taking picture of the moon (lunar) using “point & shoot” camera on top of tripod to stabilize the image. The result and my result to the ever continually to the question I ask myself  “is possible to take picture with detail of the moon with point and shoot?”

I can only give an opinion and not finalize the answer because I only test what I have but it good enough. The answer is “it is possible but with a very low success rate of any detail image of the moon”, meaning in layman term you can try with the “point and shoot” but the picture is not going be like what you see with your naked eyes or with telescope.

So in result, what people say (online) it possible to take picture on the moon; my reply to that is that you can try but unlike the other people (online) I will state use a camera with high zoom (I know it this will help because I just tested it) and maybe and just maybe with camera that has a high iso number if it possible on a point and shoot (not sure) since this can control night image.

Picture taken on 7/6/14 around 10:30 P.M. on tripod.

Taking picture of the Moon (Lunar) - Test #1

These are test picture of the moon using point and shoot camera. Now I read that it is possible (online) that you can take decent picture of the moon using point & camera without using dslr. Now I haven’t found any example of those, so these are my personal test to prove if it can be done. I’m no expert but I know enough about camera and taking picture and how to take one to talk about it a little. These tests are for the preparation for the Oct 08, 2014 lunar eclipse; I miss my chance on the April 14, 2014 then again I wasn’t prepares for it even if I did take the picture it wouldn’t turn out great. These are the first test just holding on to the camera using my hand. Next test would be using a tripod.

Pictures taken on 6/4/14, around 11:15 PM; all were taken on automatic.

Which to chose, internal media drive or external media drive?

When I’m talking about media drive, of course I'm talking about the burner and not the regular drive that just play Medias. No one just buy those anymore for the computer, if they want that they can just buy a portable one or one for their TV. There are Pro and Con for both but to break down in general it come down to costs and functions/abilities (write speed).

Internal media drive
  • They cost less than their counterpart for external media drive
  • They have more "write speed" then their counter-part of the same cost if compare with price alone
  • Majority of Internal media drive are design for desktop computer
  • You must know how to install the drive yourself, plus that drive must have the "right" wire/connector for the motherboard and power supply for your computer.
External media drive
  • They cost more than the internal media drive
  • They have less "write speed" compare to their counterpart
  • depending when it was made and who made it, the size vary
  • most are just plug and play and get  most of their power from the computer that way, while other require more power which require you to plug into an electrical outlet.
I just telling you the pro and con for these, the final choice it up to the person who buying it and using it. I mean these are some of the stuff I have to think about when I bought one or two.

Kongregate's Hard Badge Tips (#02)

  • Astrox: You would think this "Astrox" hard badge would be hard but it not because there is loophole to this that makes it easy. That loophole is that you can "Customize" your setting and how to play and overall game; hint just start with the best ship they got and start with the largest amount money they allow you start with and you good to go. All you need is to buy the stuff and you have the money to start with. You can get all Three of the badge in one go. (Easy) badge is probably the longest for the impatient player because you have to follow the instruction and don’t close the window or else the tutorial will end. For (Medium) badge just go kill some pirate (easy money if can you kill them) or mine stuff and sell. For the (Hard) badge just kill any five pirate officer.

Random Images/Pictures (#01)

Right now I’m taking a break from trying to write how to get hard badge for now and do some random thing like this. Here a few image using two different cameras. Both are a point & shoot cameras but one is old and one is not so old. These pictures was taken around 4:00 pm, inside, on 5/30/14; all picture is done on automate. Pic 1 is done normal while Pic 2 is zoom. And if you were wondering, that a real "Barn Owl"
  • Camera 1: Fujifilm FinePix A330 [Year release: 2004? (I’m not sure)](Note: that the maximum zoom it can do)
  • Camera 2: Nikon CoolPix L620 [Year release: 2013] (Note: that not the maximum zoom but if I zoom any more, it make too much noise in the picture.
(1) FinePix A330 (normal)
(2) FinePix A330 (Zoom - max)

(2) CoolPix L620 (Zoom)

(1) CoolPix L620 (normal)

Here another pictures (same location) using a different point and shoot camera. Picture taken on 5/31/14 around 4:00 PM. Don’t remember if it was on automate or manual, most likely it was on manual because the image blur and usually my hand shake and blur the image when it taken. Most likely.
  • Camera 3: FujiFilm FinePix F30 [Year release: 2006? (I’m not sure)](Note: that the maximum zoom it can do
FinePix F30 (Normal)
FinePix F30 (zoom - Max)

Kongregate's Hard Badge Tips (#01)

There some badges I got by walkthrough, those I would not state. The other I would state how I got it using my method.

Going down the list by easiest earn on the “hard” on my list but not counting those with walkthrough:

  • Kingdom Rush:  no shame on getting the badge on any setting even if it on the easiest. Upgrade your stuff to the max if you can. That what I did. There 2 hard badge, i talking about the one where you just finish the game.
  • Pandemic 2: This is more on Luck then skill base, read the comment and you will see. Here my record for this game alone. 25-30 times, 2 win (kill off the world), 3 times I succeed in infecting Madagascar. The rest fail if you don’t get Madagascar. You have to try until you get Madagascar. Here the thing I found interesting, if I start from Greenland, New Zealand, or Australia; I have a high chance of getting Madagascar.
  • Music Catch 1 & 2: Read the top comment and you will get it. The Rule is to be patience.
  • Nano War: A bit of warning, it will lag once the screen is fill with your unit in later level. It doesn’t lag if it just the computer (evil). The way to win is speed and quantity. Here some hint and tip. Attack the small neutral one 1st if it near. Let the enemy attack big neutral one until it weak enough for you to take it or ignore that and attack directly at the biggest or second biggest number of enemy the enemy control; this only work the best near the start of the level. Attack in masses, even if the attack is one attack pt; Think swarm of bees or ants.
  • The Peacekeeper: Level 30 wave go like this; normal enemy, 1 boss with few normal, then finally 3 boss. The one you have to watch out for is the 1 boss part. Here how it goes; normal enemy you (gamer) can probably deal with them normally if you made to level 30 already, if you uses heal, grenade, or emp during the normal enemy save some as in not killing them so your ability reload, you need them for the 1 boss battles. That one boss throw axes into your pit and it will hit you one-way or another by you hitting it (you moving) or it hitting you. So the start of the battle you need emp him and shoot like there no tomorrow. When your health is half, heal. Nade when you can and shoot that sob down. When 3 boss show up, you need to strategize how to do it, but thank god all three show because that limit their attack ability on the axe boss. Here the list on who to take out first; Axe, rocket , and the shotgun. Uses your heal, nade, and emp smartly.

Kongregate’s Game “Hard” Badge, pre-explain

Kongregate is an online game website that have web-site badge for certain and selected game, you must have a Kongregate account to keep the badge for your own record and to brag about it. Any who, I play there when I can and the “hard” badge I earned, I’m going to explain a few of them how to get them on the next post.

As to this date [4/15/14], I have earned 58 [Hard] badges. Of them some was easy, while other took some time, while other require outside source for help. You can say 80% was solely done with no help, 10% require me to look at walkthrough, while the last 10% I didn’t even try and just look at walkthrough. Here the quickly advises for any games with Badges.

  • Always read the Top Comment, there always some help hints, advises, or clues that will come later in the game
  • There no shame in looking for or watching a Walkthrough.

Anyway I’m only going list the badge that any player can get with a minimum good skill, and explain how to get it.
