Killzone: Mercenary - Mission 6 (Lights Out): Precision Contract (walkthrough)

Contract loadout requirements: None

The mission requirements:
  • Finish the mission in 25 minutes
  • Avoid civilian deaths
  • Destroy the AA Guns on the roof within 5 minutes of each other
  • Shoot out and explode 2 flamethrower tanks

My recommendation to bring along on this contract loadout:
  • Secondary Weapons: VC9
  • Van-Guard Systems: Carapace
I would highly recommend you uses one of the full-auto weapon of your choices with a decent stopping power on your primary weapon on this contract mission.

Since "time" is the only factor here with no weapon requirement kills, then "speed" is a necessity.

Finish the mission in 25 minutes


I did this contract mission on all difficulty level, and it work using my method. With 25 minute requirement, I usually on average will have about "8 minute" to spare when I finish the mission.

Avoid civilian deaths


All civilian are at the "coolant pipes area" of the mission (where you suppose to blow up with D-charge). Once the fighting start and the alarm going off, the civilian will run away, and you will be fighting in this area whether you like or not.

You can ignore this part of the mission since they not even near where you start fighting or where you suppose to go. So no random bullet or explosion will hit a civilians.   

Destroy the AA Guns on the roof within 5 minutes of each other


The timer start the second you blow up the first AA gun until the second AA gun.

Whether you stealth or cause an alarm before you even put the first charge on the 1st AA Guns will change how long you stay here in this area because the number of enemies that show up. I try both way and I can tell you that it eat away your time away if you fight too long.

Since I don't know which way you may try but on average you should have about "1 or 2 minute" to spare depending your performance in the 1st AA gun area in clearing the area of enemies after blowing up the 1st AA Gun.

Shoot out and explode 2 flamethrower tanks

Areas and the number flamethrower:
  • Coolant pipes area: 2
  • First AA gun area: 1
  • Room between the 1st and 2nd AA gun: 1
  • Second AA gun area: 1
If you lucky, you get both of them in the "coolant pipes area". If not then you will have get the 2nd kill at the "room between the AA gun" or the "2nd AA gun area". There a reason why these area and not the "1st AA gun area", I will explain later below.

If your skilled with the gun, then shoot the tank of the flamethrower. If you like me who lack that skill and do not want waste time, I shot it with VC9.

Note: Like I say, this is the 1st Killzone game I ever played so there are things that I don't know and So I  wanted try things myself. I did two test to see if I could uses an alternative way beside "shooting it" with gun to get an exploding flamethrower tank since it did say "explode"; So I though why not uses an explosion to cause an explosion that why I did the test.  

I try using "Porcupine" as the 1st test, but they (the game) didn't give me the "kill" when it did hit and kill the flamethrower. I didn't test the "M194 Frag" or the "M327" for reason that the frag bounce around before they delay and blow up. Delay equal waste of time equal no good on this mission since time is a factor. My next test was VC9, which did what I wanted and no more test was needed. I skip the "M80" test because of one factor since VC9 is similar to it in damage and that factor is "Time"(again).

This walkthrough is from the time you landed to blow up the coolant pipes until the end.

Coolant Pipes Area:

You just landed after you gun down stuff. Now let get started. Your choices of which side to blow up first, doesn't matter. Head toward there, and kill the normal or officer down there if they are going be in your way with your primary weapon. If you see the flamethrower, VC9 him. Place the charge and step away and blow it up.

Now uses the stair to head toward the other side just so you might meet the other flamethrower. Activate your Carapace so you don't get shot too much, while heading there and placing the 2nd charge to blow up. When you done head toward the elevator to go blow up some AA guns.

Shoot anyone that block your routes, if they not in your way just run past them.

1st AA Gun Area: 

Even before the elevator stop, you radar is jammed.

Now the door to the 1st AA area door open. You then stab the 1 grunt in front of you. Then turn right and head toward the flamethrower and stab him too. Turn left and wait until you see the officer and shoot him. Now places a charge on the 1st AA gun and blow it up after you step out of it's blast range.

Now you must fight some enemies that will spawn this area until they all dead to open the door to the next area.

Room between the 1st and 2nd AA gun:   

Now the door open, go in and shoot everyone. If you miss the flamethrower kill, here another chance.

Hack the door to open to the 2nd AA gun area.

2nd AA gun area:

Door open and you turn right and head toward the flamethrower. If you miss your chance in getting the flamethrower, here your last chance by shooting it with VC9; if not then just stab it. Turn left and wait until the 2 enemies below you are closes enough for you to shoot both at the same time. This is why I recommend a full-automate weapon. Now they dead, places the charge on the 2nd AA gun but don't blow it up yet. Walk out and head toward where the ladder you suppose to climb. Here push the button to blow it up and start climbing the ladder. When you reach the top there maybe enemies here, melee them and wait for your pick-up.

Fuel Regulators Area:

You got pick up and drop off. Here remember where the Black Jack supply is located because you will be resupply yourself to keep alive. Activate your Carapace and start shooting at the fuel regulator when they come up after you push the button. Remember, only shoot and kill enemies that too close or on the side of you. Don't forget to resupply.

Well you should know the rest after you shoot and blow up all 3 fuel regulator, if you play the normal mission. Go Escape. And that the end of the mission.
