Killzone: Mercenary - Mission 8 (Blood Money): Covert Contract (walkthrough)

Contract loadout requirements: Ghost

The mission requirements:
  • Save the scientist in Lab 01
  • Escape the Vault without being detected
  • Stealth through Lab 02
  • Achieve 15 Ghost Generator kills
My recommendation to bring along on this contract loadout: M98 Flash. This will be necessary grenade when it come to saving the scientist in Lab 01. For more detail, it will be written down below. The hardest part for me is trying to solve how to save the scientist and getting out of the vault without being detected. It took awhile but I solve it with simple trial and error and it can be done even for a noob. (I'm a noob in joystick control, remember). There not much stealth in this overall mission since you can go all loud with your weapons most of the time expect some part which will be written below.       

Save the scientist in Lab 01

Outside of Lab 01
It a bit tricky but the goal is to prevent the scientist from dying until you (the player) eliminated his threat. I found two way where the game will indicate that you finish "Save the scientist in Lab 01" and I will stated both of them since one of the two can happen using the method I about to write. Also this method sometime require you to reload to the previous checkpoint if you fail to throw where you want it and it got the scientist dead.

While outside the Lab 01, you got a choices between going up the ladder on the left or through the door. Chose the door, but before you enter make sure your "Ghost" is activated or at less fully charge to be uses and you have M98 Flash with you. Enter the door and activated your "Ghost" if you have not already and get ready to throw the flash. When the door open, throw the flash between the 2 ISA soldiers in front of you. The following can happen and both will count as "Save the scientist in Lab 01" by the game. One: you and the two ISA soldiers in front of you get flash and when you finally open your eyes, the scientist disappear (run away). Or Two: you don't get flash by your own flash and you gun down those two ISA soldiers while the scientist is still alive but flashed, and when you finish shooting those two. The game will tell you done. At this points whether the scientist get shot or not doesn't matter anymore.

Escape the Vault without being detected

Note: this may take several try before you succeed, this all about timing.

Now let get started then: After you hack to get the sample, you were told to put demo charge here. Go put the charge on the right side first then put the last charge on the left. There a reason why in this order. Now your radar dies along with your Van-Guard system, which mean the Admiral and her men are here.

After you place the 2nd charge on the left side, wait a second or two. Then head up stair (left side) behind you. Upstairs there is a Black Jack and walkway behind it, Head toward that.

Made sure there is an ISA soldier standing there, if not your timing is off. If the solider is there, head in front of him and melee him. After killing him, hide behind the pillar. Wait about one to two seconds to see if they spawn another soldier to the walkway. If not, head toward the second pillar and you home free. Exit the Vault. 

Stealth through Lab 02

On top of Lab 02
"Ghost", that the answer for this, fairly easy if you know the route to walk while ghost.

When you enter Lab 02, turn right and when you see a climbable pipe. Climb it. Continue to walk straight on top until there no more place to walk. Go Ghost, then "walk/hope" down. Continue walking straight ahead while staying on the right side and you find the "exit/broken" hole a little bit to the left. Jump in and you done.

Achieve 15 Ghost Generator kills

This should be fairly easy to get and assuming you being ghosting since the start and recharging when possible. You should be able to get all 15 kill before arriving at Lab 02, if you have not forgotten to turn it on.
